Meet the Founders
Brian Hazan
An 18-year veteran of the financial Services industry, his past roles include: Smith Barney, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and HSBC in various VP roles.
He brings his vast investment knowledge to the Husl as well. Throughout his career, Brian has worked with both private and institutional clients to evaluate and advise on both public and private investments.
As of recently, Brian has been involved in the management and advisory of several start-up ventures in the food and beverage industry as well as the blockchain space.
With over $2 billion dollars in lost royalties in the past 5 years, Brian strongly believes that the music industry is more than ready for the disruptive power of blockchain and the trustless transparency of NFTs.
Varun Bajaj
As the CEO of the Husl, Varun brings a lot to the party.
Varun has over eight years of experience as a real estate attorney. And most importantly he has eight years of experience in cryptocurrency; an original Bitcoin OG, he started his crypto journey in 2013. He has seen it all — the good, the bad and the ugly.
Varun is passionate about creating a project that will make the NFT and cryptocurrency community proud.
Now at the helm of the Husl, he is excited to fix the broken music industry.
Sapphire Adizes
Sapphire is a star artist in his own right, and brings his knowledge of the music business to the team. He is over acquisitions, content and production.
He is an award-winning saxophonist, composer, producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist.
On Spotify, his musical works have resulted in 150+ million plays. On YouTube, 40+ million views. His works include his musical performances, compositions and productions. He is the owner and operator of a world-class recording studio and multi-facility complex. His facility houses and rents to A-list producers and artists. Sapphire has collaborated with and produced for best selling artists as well as major labels. Showing his true range, he has done this across multiple genres and markets.
Jason Hernandez
Jason brings his unique skill set to the Husl as the Chief Marketing Officer.
He worked for over 20 years as a Vice President in the financial industry. He has led teams focused on wealth management, business development, performance growth and customer experience.
His extensive personal network includes music artists, influencers and financial professionals. An old hand in the executive arena, he is ready to put his knowledge and experience to the test at the Husl. He holds a change management certification and has participated in multiple Six Sigma projects.
Matthew Schellhas
Another top-notch co-founder, Matthew brings his unique talent and experience to the Husl.
As the Head of Liquidity Provision & EconoMetrics, he brings his economic expertise and experience to the table.
He has worked as a commodity trader for an Natural Futures Association Introducing Broker and has also served as Chief Risk Analyst for a digital currency market-maker. He has passed requisite exams I through III for the respected Chartered Market Technician, or CMT designation.
In the crypto world, he is a long-term Ethereum holder and was a participant in the 2016 DAO ICO.
Fun fact: Matthew is also a classically trained pianist, composer and a hip-hop music fan.
